POTENTIAL ABILITY: ★★★★★
In a national side that has boasted one of the greatest strikers in world football, Isak has big shoes to fill. That however, should not be a problem for the 6ft 3 striker – his feet are probably big enough to fill Zlatan’s boots. In footballing terms, the 17-year-old is an exciting talent. Scoring in just his second game for Sweden, the young striker is the youngest swede to score for the national side. Couple that with his big money move to Borussia Dortmund and you have all the ingredients for a top future talent.
Most comfortably deployed as a Target man Isak thrives with the ball at his feet. Calm in possession, he is always eager to hold up the ball and bring others into play but isn’t afraid to drive into space. A proficient dribbler with the ball at his feet, Isak also possess great aerial ability and a natural scoring talent. Two goals on his 17th birthday on derby day against AIK rivals Djurgarden instantly endeared him to the home fans. His clinical nature is something that will only improve with time but having scored 13 goals in 24 matches for his previous side, AIK Solna, the young Swede clearly has an eye for goal.
Now being eased into life in Dortmund, Isak will look to learn off the likes of Marco Reus and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang to bring his game to the next level.
